Word Search: learn through an example
Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Word Search. Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Look at what changes after your first action.
Each board contains eight target words from the included English word list.
An idea for your next attempt
When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Use the example to check your reasoning.
The objective of a round
Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.
The playing sequence
- Select the first and last letter of a straight word.
- Words can run horizontally, vertically or diagonally, in either direction.
- Find all eight targets.
- New puzzle shuffles again.
How to use the controls
Tap or click endpoints. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Look at the feedback after the action.
An example to follow
Selecting the endpoints in reverse order also finds the same word. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Choose a deliberate next step.
Where a round can go wrong
Words cannot turn corners. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
